Mila Schon Oversized Rockabilly Mod-Glam 1970’s striped red and black acetate semi-triangular Cats Eyes gradient lens sunglasses. Model # M. 113. Hardly used. Almost new old stock. Designed in Italy and made there too by Mila Schon. Real rockabilly style with striped red acetate on a black background. Wonderful contrast of color. Looks like a movie star’s’ sun glass getup. A micro “strass” under the “M” logo on arms attests to the 1970’s time period. Very classy. Acetate eyewear is made by forming layers of plastic into large blocks, then carefully slicing individual parts, hand polishing, and assembling them into a frame. This vintage eyewear is from when Mila Schon was just starting out. This is Midcentury haute couture eyewear. These are just the type of glasses Jacqueline Kennedy wore to keep up her style. Mila Schon was Italian, family name “Nutrizio.” Schon designed geometric lines of color into her eyeglasses to reinvent classic ideas into pieces of fashionable art. Collectible.
